The Imp himself

Lee Andrews has always felt the need to create individual pieces of work and constantly challenge and question established practices and methods.
He has worked with wood since he could hold a chisel and apprenticed with the master cabinet maker Malcom Adams in a workshop beside the sea in the sleepy Devon town of Teignmouth.
After that, Lee gained greater woodworking experience as a carpenter joiner designing and making built-in wardrobes, kitchens and other high-end joinery work, but his drive to do something more creative soon took hold.

He now has his own workshop in the heart of mid-Devon

Impwood and the Environment

Art shouldn`t cost the Earth

We are aware of, and concerned about, the Earth and its resources.
Although we use a variety of materials in our work, wood is the material of choice and in particular, plywood. We use sustainable or reclaimed plywood from a variety of sources.
Although often more challenging and requiring a great deal of imagination at times, the most environmentally-friendly way to create a product is to re-use a piece of wood.
Our reclaimed wood can have interesting histories; but we love the fact that a beautiful bespoke piece can be created from something that would only have been thrown away.

Impwood Gifts

Impwood makes a range of interesting hand-crafted gifts that will be enjoyed long after they have been given. These range from the useful to the beautiful and include: mirrors; lamps; coat hooks; and hand-carved plywood wall hangings made to any size or style to suit any area.
